Love them, smoke them all the time, especially the madros. The #3 is a great all around cigar. The #1 is a fantastic golf cigar.

Used to smoke a lot of the 1066 Merlins. Always seemed a bit Opus like to me at the time. I think that is because I hadn't smoked enough Opus!

I like them too. Pretty good (mild though) and cheap too. I do not like the 1066, especially the Merlin. This is one of a handful of cigars where I prefer the nattie.

I've been smoking them since they were introduced. When I want a smoke with a CT shade wrapper this is my first choice.

I loved the Sterling's from years ago. I do go back to the HDM Maduro's ever once and a while.

I get a metalic taste from Connecticut wrapers. Not for me at all.

I do remember this cigar though from when I first tampered with NC smokes. Must of been mid 90's. Thought the maduro was very simple but sweet. Not bad if you liked maduros, and at about $2.50 a stick was perfect if one liked a "yard stick."

Smoked one once that was gifted to me by a friend that was managing a local B&M. Not a terrible stick for the price point, but nothing I'd go out of my way to smoke. Perhaps if I found myself with nothing to smoke and ducked into a low end B&M that didn't cary Padron or Fuente, I might grab just one to scratch that itch. (If the Avo's looked too dry to smoke that is).

If you get confused listen to the music play

That's how I feel about the Avos. They have that horse stall smell.
To each their own I guess.

Cheap and reliable. Keep them in my humidor at a local restaurant where we dine.
